Our service area:
While I'm based in Santa Cruz, CA, I shoot all over the Bay Area and beyond. I shoot headshots and corporate events in San Francisco. I capture architecture and food in Palo Alto. I photograph elopements in Carmel, engagements in Big Sur, and proposals in Capitola. I photograph maternity and babies in San Jose. I shoot branding and lifestyle portraits in Mountain View and Los Gatos. If it's something I enjoy, and a place I don't mind traveling to, then I will do it!
What types of photography we cover:
People ask me all the time, "Chris, what exactly do you shoot?" I think for a second, then decide to list the things I don't shoot, because it's... shorter. To give my clients a fresh look of what I've been up to, I start out each year with a gallery like you see above, whittling down a whole year's worth of work down to exactly one photo from each shoot in the last year. So, what you see above is a snapshot of last year's 300+ photo sessions, from simple headshots to full wedding days.

Chris Schmauch here, owner of GoodEye Photography. I shoot all kinds of subjects throughout the year – 25 to 35 weddings, lots of family portraits and plenty of commercial / corporate / lifestyle photography for the business community (well over 200 shoots per year). It doesn't matter if I'm shooting food, little kids, or huge weddings – I love it all! And I prefer being busy throughout the year so I stay on top of my game.
